A business may sponsor an overseas employee for a temporary visa for up to four yeas using the Business (Long Stay) Visa, otherwise known as a Subclass 457 Visa. 

A business may also sponsor an overseas employee for a permanent visa under the Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) or the Regional Skilled Migration Scheme (RSMS).

There are advantages and disadvantages to both schemes.

Businesses may sponsor a wider range of skills in regonal Australia than they can in the Metropolitan cities.  Regional Australia includes every place except Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and Perth.

All sponsorships are subject certain conditions, including a minimum salary that must be paid.
