The family of Spouse visas allows the married spouse of an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, together with any of the spouse's dependent children to live and work in Australia.

Spouse visas have been refused in cases where DIAC do not believe that your relationship is genuine and long term.  Cases where there is a big difference between the ages of the man and woman, or where the husband or wife comes from certain countries need to be carefully prepared and presented to DIAC.
